Fly your Singapore flag high in 2022! This is our first National Day Parade (NDP) since Covid-19 restrictions were eased up in Singapore. 

In the months leading up to August 9, you may have had glimpses of fireworks during the NDP previews, but nothing comes close to being a part of the NDP 2022 celebrations on the actual day! 

Here are 9 best spots around Singapore where you can enjoy the live fireworks action, both around the main event at The Float @Marina Bay, as well as all across the various heartlands.

Marina Bay is surrounded by 4 distinct waterfront areas. You are in the thick of the action here. To check crowd levels, you can even monitor the real-time crowd situation so you can avoid getting stuck. If you are kiasu enough, come a few hours earlier to chope your favourite spot! The fireworks display begins at about 8.15pm – so yes, the wait is long but worth it.

Esplanade Waterfront – Esplanade Jetty

The NDP 2022 main event will take place at The Float @Marina Bay – along the Esplanade Waterfront. The best views of the celebration will definitely be here, and even though you may not get a seat at the main event, the Esplanade Jetty is surely your best bet at catching the fireworks up close. Be sure to get your phones ready to capture the amazing fireworks display against the amazing skylines from the Marina Bay Sands and the CBD!

The Promontory Waterfront – The Lawn

Directing opposite the Esplanade Waterfront is The Promontory Waterfront. Here, The Lawn is easily recognisable, so chope a spot early for a picnic with your friends on the grassy field to catch the glitzy fireworks show.

Marina Bay Sands Waterfront

At Marina Bay Sands Waterfront, you are standing at the site of the iconic Marina Bay Sands skyline. The promenade walkway usually provides a scenic walking route, but on August 9, be prepared to be squeezing close with your fellow fireworks spectators here. If you’re willing to spend a bit of money for awesome views, you can have a relaxing time at any of the selection of bars overlooking Marina Bay. Remember to book early!

Fullerton Waterfront – Merlion Park

The Fullerton Waterfront is home to the famous Merlion Park. This is a spot you don’t want to miss taking loads of photos with mama Merlion and baby Merlion. Make sure your phone is fully charged at 8.15pm for all the unforgettable shots.

Singapore Flyer

Away from the crowded waterfront areas, enjoy a peaceful and breath-taking view in the comfort of the rotating Singapore Flyer. You do not want to be caught at the bottom of the Flyer when the fireworks display starts – so do plan your ride with precision. And book early if you can!

At the Marina Barrage, you can lay your picnic mat for a far-enough vantage point of the fireworks display. The grassy rooftop here is spacious and fun for the whole family to catch the sunset right before you treat yourself to the popping of colours in the sky.

Gardens by the Bay

Fancy taking in all the sights and sounds amidst the lush green all around you? Come here for more fun for the children before you look up to the skies and enjoy the fireworks. If you would like an elevated view, go to the Supertree Observatory. The observatory deck allows a view from the highest point of the Gardens.
