That said, getting active and involved in face-to-face social activities can benefit them much more. So let’s go into these five active ageing hubs and programmes that seniors can take advantage of to lead fuller lives.
ActiveSG exercise programmes and outdoor activities for elderly in Singapore
ActiveSG app is a portal where you can find a plethora of activities. You can join classes from Aqua Aerobics classes to Abs, Buns & Thighs classes, or use this app to buy swim passes and gym passes to access ActiveSG swimming pools and gyms.
With further reopening measures implemented on 29 March 2022, ActiveSG Sport Centres’ capacity limits have been relaxed. You can play badminton, pickleball, tennis, table tennis, squash and petanque at ActiveSG facilities near you with a total of 10 people per court or table.
Silver Activites: Online games for elderly
Silver Activities is a digital hub of activities and games that our seniors can go to for fun games. You can find quizzes, memory games, and other trivia in the portal. They are also available in our official languages: English, Mandarin Chinese, Malay and Tamil

Community centre activities for elderly
The People Association offers a host of community centre activities for elderly. Simply go to ‘Locate your CC’ and find an activity to join. Don’t be fooled by that button though! You can join at any CC if it’s convenient for you.
You can use your SkillsFuture to sign up for courses like TCM Gua Sha course (available at Serangoon CC) and Acupressure Massage (Toa Payoh East CC), or participate in interest groups, such as St George’s West Gardening IG (Small Plot) group available at Kolam Ayer Street. NTUC’S Active Ageing Hubs and Senior Activity Centres
NTUC’s Active Ageing hubs are located islandwide. They currently have three active ageing hubs and 10 senior activity centres in Singapore.
NTUC Active Ageing Hubs provide elderly gyms, fitness classes, and a wide range of social activities. For instance, at their elderly gym, they have programmes such as Circuit Training and Gym Tonic. These cost a fee but you get guidance and access to all the gym equipment! Such exercises are known to help manage weight, improve physical functions, and reduce blood pressure and blood sugar. There is currently a 10% off fitness programmes promotion for NTUC Members that is valid until 31 Dec 2022 (for first-time sign-ups only).
Other services at NTUC’s Active Ageing Hubs include flexible care, day care, dementia care, and Go Respite, a care solution designed to provide respite for caregivers.
Kwong Wai Shiu Active Ageing Hub
Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital has been establishing Community Care Centres as active ageing hubs where seniors can go for rehabilitative care services and social programmes. Most of these centres can be found in new housing estates. Currently, there are four centres: KWSC @ McNair, KWSC @ St George, KWSC @ Macpherson, and KWSC @ Jalan Besar.
These centres partner with MOH, Agency for Integrated Care (AIC), Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), Health Promotion Board (HPB) and SG Digital to offer a wide array of active ageing programmes and courses. They offer exercise classes, digital services workshops, choir sessions, and so on. Seniors of all income levels who are frail or isolated can go to these centres.
