The Dragon Chamber is a solid entrant for the category of unique restaurants in Singapore. Even the entrance is dramatic: You’ve got to enter through a concealed door that’s disguised as the fridge door of a local cafe. And after you enter The Dragon Chamber, it’s like heading into one of those triad gang hangouts…and that’s just the beginning. The food is also impressive, with the most standout dish being a soup containing the nether regions of a crocodile. Horrifying you say? Well, it leaves a lasting impression at least!

Address: 2 Circular Road

Okay, okay. Maybe your friends aren’t the kind to be impressed by far away places or those with “gimmicky” entrances and dishes. They want to meet somewhere central, with reliable and “normal” food, and they want something to impress their palates with a brand name to boot. Enter db Bistro & Oyster Bar, by Chef Daniel Boulud. You know it immediately impresses because it’s located in Marina Bay Sands, and the oysters that you’ll slurp on will be absolutely pristine. Artemis Grill & Sky Bar is another impressive restaurant for you and your buddies that’s in a central location. Sit down to vibrant Mediterranean cuisine, known for its fresh and healthy flavours. Expect your conversations to flow easily, lubricated well with olive oils and sky-high drinks. Restaurant by the bay: Kinki Restaurant + Bar

Source: Kinki Restaurant + Bar

This restaurant is cheeky from the get-go, asking diners if they wanna “Get Kinki” and to #StayKinki. That’s because Kinki Restaurant + Bar prides itself on being a game changer in the dining scene by having what it takes to defy tradition and to avoid being normcore at all costs. As such, definitely expect dishes and drinks with a fusion of east and west, all built on the base of Japanese cuisine. It’s all done very stylishly though, with fun dish names but none-too-exotic ingredients; so those with less adventurous palates should still be safely entertained. Do note and observe the dress code of no singlets and flip flops!

Dine in the dark: Nox – Dine in the Dark

Source: Nox

In May 2021, many were worried about the future of Nox, as the landlord demanded it vacate the premises. Fast forward to June 2022 and we’re glad to see that this unique restaurant in Singapore is still in operation! This means more people can experience the unique concept of Nox, which is to enter a world without sight, as diners embark on their culinary quest in pitch darkness. You’ll be led through this unique journey by blind and visually impaired attendants, which makes the existence of this restaurant even more meaningful. In addition, without sight, other senses are said to be heightened, such as your hearing, smell, taste and even touch (mouthfeel).

Address: 83 Club Street

Opening hours: Tue to Sun, 6pm to 10.30pm

Dine in the sky Singapore: Cable Car Sky Dining

Source

Can you and your dining compatriots imagine having a meal in a glass cabin, suspended on a rope as you dangle over Singapore? That sounds kinda scary, until you realise that it’s in Cable Car Sky Dining, which makes it feel unique and even romantic. How’s this for a unique restaurant with a view? Choose from a destination-themed cabin where you’ll enjoy 4-course Japanese, a Singapore flavours cabin with a bento meal, or even a champagne cabin. Unfortunately, the dining party size is limited to 4 pax due to the size of the cabin, but feel free to hang out again at Sentosa to recount this amazing experience when you regroup later!

Opening hours: From 5.30pm; last boarding at 6.30pm. Bookings required.
